Wenchen joined the lab as a Visiting PhD Student. She is a PhD student at
the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the Harbin Institute
of Technology, and continues her studies in our lab under the financial
support of the China Scholarship Council (CSC) scholarship.
Kazu had an opportunity to present at the Singhealth Duke-NUS Scientific
Congress 2023. The session was “Microbiome Symposium: Harnessing the
Microbiota to Fortify Health and Treat Disease” chaired by Dr Tan Chin Yee
and Asst Prof Neil K Surana from Duke University.
Kazu presented at the 7th Microbiome R&D and Business Collaboration
Congress Asia in Seul. His title was ‘Deciphering the Influence of gut
microbiome on individual responses to dietary fibre in cardiometabolic
health’.
We were fortunate to have the valuable opportunity to attend a seminar by Prof. Ramnik Xavier at NUS. Prof. Xavier holds a
significant role as a core institute member at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. He not only serves as the director of the
Klarman Cell Observatory but also holds the positions of director for the Broad’s Immunology Program and co-director for the Broad’s
Infectious Disease and Microbiome Program.
The 1st Thesis Advisory Committee (TAC) meeting for YiRou was conducted today. Thanks to her hard work and Dayang’s assistance, she
was able to conclude the meeting smoothly.
